On After Dark from Denton, TX was formed following the disbandment of Whips and Furs by members Jordan Jackson (guitar/vocals) and Greg Ruppe (drums) in 2007. The current line-up includes Brian Harvey (bass) and former Gazelles frontman Adam Bertholdi (guitar). They set out to formulate songs that combine the great pop sensibilities of Stiff Records acts with the dissonance and aesthetic of late '90s GSL releases. With this material On After Dark has played regional shows opening for bands such as The Riverboat Gamblers and An Horse and in their careers they have shared the stage with The Vibrators, Le Shok, The Dwarves, The Marked Men, and The Subhumans. On After Dark released a 7” in summer 2010, "Yanki Nights" b/w "Middle America" (Sonora Records), recorded by Brian Harvey in his home studio in Denton, TX with artwork designed and hand screened by Greg Ruppe. Both songs on this record continue the bands theme of disillusionment with the working life and its pendulum swing to self-destructive nights.
